Navigating global treasury complexity: highlights from the Nordic Cash & Treasury Management conference

Back to overview

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to join the Nordic Cash & Treasury Management conference in Stockholm, where we co-presented with ING on a topic that resonates with many corporates today: the global complexity of doing business as a corporate.

Our session explored the real-world challenges that treasurers face when operating across borders, including:

  • Navigating regulatory and compliance landscapes
  • Managing cultural and organizational differences
  • Dealing with supply chain and logistics hurdles
  • Aligning fragmented IT systems
  • Adapting to a shifting interest rate environment
  • And the key question: should treasury functions be centralized?

To bring this to life, we shared our approach to helping corporates gain visibility and control over group cash, especially in environments where trapped cash is a concern.

Using real-life case studies, we demonstrated how clients are tackling these challenges. We illustrated how a cash pool works, including the mechanics of the sweeping process, and highlighted the financial and operational benefits:

  • Optimized interest on account balances
  • Reduced administrative workload
  • Smarter use of group liquidity

We wrapped up with a compelling example: a global corporate (2024 revenue: EUR 3.8 billion) that implemented a structured cash pool with 65 automated sweeps per day. Each evening, the consolidated balance is transferred to the lead bank to reduce the outstanding credit facility. This set-up resulted in greater cash visibility, operational efficiency, and tangible financial gains.

Curious how our solutions could support your treasury strategy? We’d be happy to explore the possibilities with you. Feel free to reach out.
